Re: Evinrude 75HP Year and Oil question

Well I think it's a 1961 model.
I think I know the oil mix but I will not commit to it. Someone will though.

Re: Evinrude 75HP Year and Oil question

Q - What is the fuel/oil mix for my motor?
A - The following is generally true: 1958 and prior used 20:1, 1959 thru 1963 used 24:1, 1964 and newer use 50:1. High performance usage (racing) requires a ratio of 25:1. New engine break-in (not DI) requires 25:1.

Re: Evinrude 75HP Year and Oil question

Thanks a bunch. So it looks to be 1961 and a 24:1 mixture. Any suggestions on brand of oil? I appreciate your speedy responses and help.

I've used the stuff from Wal-mart for years.
A full synthetic oil will make less smoke, but costs more.

Any TCW-3 rated 2 stroke oil will be fine.
