I need to ask a few questions one I need to know if my 55 Evinrude is a dual fuel hose or single? Where's the connector for the gas tank books to that engine what is that called and if anybody knows what the part number is for that and where can I get one for the gas tank end of it? What is the mixture for that engine ? I have other issues with it where is the best place to get parts for a motor that old?

It has a dual hose pressure tank system, unless somebody has modified it. Part number 375788 fuel connector is the part that is bolted to the motor, 375587 fuel connector is the part that is on the end of the twin hose. Some people think those parts are worth more than the whole motor. But don't go there. Go to the Antique Outboard Motor Club's website and post a want ad. The ad is free.

Fuel mix is 16:1. That is 8oz of oil per gallon of regular gas. Use TC-W3 outboard motor oil.

iboats has all the normal service parts such as ignition parts, carburetor kits, water pump impellers, many gaskets, etc.

EDIT: forgot the website. www.aomci.org

Ok thank you where it connects to the engine has three male prongs if that helps at all. I have a gas tank but it was for a Mercury motor I was hoping that I could just change the end connector on it but that only has one hose can I also get the dual hose set up from this site and will it work with that gas tank or do I have to get a new gas tank?

You have to have a pressure tank for the motor, since the motor has no fuel pump. One of the dual lines is an air line which pumps air from the engine back to the tank to pressurize it, and then push gas back to the engine. Look for a tank at AOMCI.org classifieds or try Ebay.

They go by various names: pressurized, dual line, or Cruise-a-day:
