Hi guys, first posting here! Ive got a 1998 evinrude 70hp 2/ which I want to winterise... two things im trying to do are change the impellor and also (gulp) can anyone show me with a photo where the air intake is please? Im new to all of this and dont know any of the parts of the engine (apart from plugs!). If someone has any photos showing how to do this or a good description I would be most appreciative, thanks in advance. Dan

Don't take offense, but you should not attempt this without a service manual. Check your library -- they often have them to check out. Otherwise buy one on-line or visit your Johnny dealer for the genuine article. The air intake is on the front of the engine and covers the carburetors. The impeller replacement procedure involves dropping the lower unit. The water pump is at the top of that assembly and is driven by the drive shaft. A step by step description is simply out of the question here.

Welcome Dan, First I strongly recommend you get an OEM sevice/shop manual if your going to be doing your own work on the motor.

This post should help with the WINERIZING,
