Howdy Evinrudedog.<br /><br />Your starter can be repaired, but it is a very touchy job.<br /><br />Wear safety goggles and heavy gloves; long sleeves. The hazard is the recoil spring, which can cause a lot of damage to the surroundings if it gets loose suddenly.<br /><br />Best bet is to get a manual for guidance. Librarys usually have the right one (you will need better identification than just 18hp Evinrude).<br /><br />Good luck.
