The other day we were heading out across the lake to a park for the day. We got half way and I noticed the boat bouncing up and down like we were hitting waves, but it was dead calm. Then it was like the engine popped out of gear and revved up. I shut it down and checked to make sure the prop was still there. I had no reverse or forward anymore. We towed it back with the seadoo because of course the kicker wouldn't start lol I've watched the linkage and everything seems to be good all the way up to the shifter shaft under the carbs. What should be the next step? Pull the lower unit?
What am I looking for other then a obvious rod broken etc?
