I'm fixing up a 1960 Evinrude 5.5, and I need advice on replacement parts sources. I know some web sources for the common maintenance items, but how about a new plastic twistgrip handle and a new recoil starter handle?<br />Thanks.
Gerry--In the Sacramento area, there are two outlets that I know of that have older outboard parts. One is an outfit called Shipwreck Marine on Folsom Blvd in Rancho Cordova. I have picked up lots of parts from them, from throttle grips to shift levers. There's a gentlemen named Tom Smith who has a yard and barn full of parts (and lots of Evinrudes); I had purchased a grip from him.
