My 1989 40 hp Evinrude is a bit too lazy for
my 18 foot boat, and I have heard that Evinrude uses the same 2 cyl block for 40 50, 55 and 60 hp engines. What parts do I need to change, and what adjustments, to get 60 hp out af my 40?

Ahoy. Khauka. It would save you money to go buy a used 60, assuming that your boat is rated up to a 60. If you haven't noticed yet, things in this world often cost a lot more than they are worth. New parts for outboards are very good examples.

Red sky at night. . . .
JB

The 40 and 60 block look the same but part # is different (port position and port size? ). Carburetors for 60 may be a bigger bore and bigger jets.
