Dear Forum,

My cousin has an Evinrude 40hp outboard motor. Its around a 1998 and it has an oil tank mounted seperate on the floor of the boat and from there it feeds up to the motor. The warning beeper kept sounding a series of beeps indicating that the oil was low, I think thats what it meant, but there was a half a tank of oil in the tank yet. On an Evinrude 40hp motor is there and alarm sensor on the oil pump itself that will sound the alarm if it is not pumping oil???? Im somewhat more familiar with Merc than Evinrude. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Evinrude 40 hp

Search vro warning in the forums, the beeping can mean different things cause it can produce different tones, don't run it until you get it figured out.

Premix your fuel as well till you get it sorted out so that you do not wreck your motor. Will be a little smokey maybe but it sure beats a rebuild.
