Evinrude 40 hp trim removal

I've tried everything in my arsenal but can't get the lower pin to move. 1999 johnson 40 hp. I just want the unit out of there so if I have to sacrifice the side brackets that's fine by me. Question is the corrosion that makes these stuck in the area where the pin passes through the mounting brackets or deeper in the trim unit? Can I just cut away the mounting brackets to reveal the pin?

Trim pin or the t&t unit lower pin?

Either way, heat and lots of it....then melt wax in it....do it many times until they come out with a drift pin and hammer.

I really dont want to spend any more time trying to save it. I just want it removed so I can list it on ebay. Will cutting away those brackets do the trick?

Not really sure of how you would "Cut it away" but possibly. I would think doing it the way I describe wouldn't take and longer...at least actual cutting time.

Done plenty myself that were completely salted up...

The pin will also be stuck in the t&t too so I can't see listing it without that being removed.

Overall it's an odd question.

Does the lower tilt pin only come out in one direction ?
