evinrude 40 HP carburators 1991

engine sat 1-2 yrs.&rebuilt carbs.Still didn't do OK. REcleaned again-Now will not run hardly at all.Is there a special trick when rebuilding & cleaning carbs.I have approx. 3PSI press entering into carbs.????

Hi veraalan....<br /><br />When I clean a carb, I like to soak it a while in carb cleaner, time wise depends on how bad it is. Then I blow carb cleaner in a can through the passages and follow up with compressed air. Install a carb kit and should be good to go. I also knock out the core plugs.<br /><br />Have you taken compression and spark tests?
