if in excellent condition and it runs well. the smaller motors more expensive than some larger motors.

Excellent find! I doubt that motor has 50 hours on it. It's about as clean as they come. You got a great deal!

Re: Evinrude 4.5

I own four of these same motors, they are the smallest, smoothest motor ever made that has forward/neutral/reverse. Compared to a single cylinder it is unreal how smooth and quiet these are. I promise you will love it. Might drop a new impeller in her just because of age, the rubber gets stiff and though still pumps, may break off a blade and block the water flow. Only a few bucks, like 12, from any OMC dealer for the real thing. My brother bought one new in 81, I was using a merc on my Hunter sailboat. It rattled every hatch and buzzed the rigging. I thought that was just the way it was... He made me try his little 4.5, and I fell in love. I stocked up, but I know I'll never live long enough to wear even one out. He was a trapper and used his in his work, hard full throttle all the time barging with a heavy load. He still has his original motor, never been into and runs as good as new. If anyone is in or near Georgia, I'd part with one or two if to a good home only... Can't say enough good about these sweet little motors. Woody
