On the last trip of the year my 84 35 HP gradually lost power. It seems to be ignitiom timing, as both plugs have clear blue spark. It can start, but difficult. Hard to get up in RPM. I cleaned carbureator, but it was clean.Motor was not overheated, i could hold my hand on cylinderhead. Compression seems OK. What can be wrong ?.I have a 25 HP 1984 in garage. Some guy told me it is same powerhead, except from airintake and carbureator, is that true ? Can i swap the powerheads ?
 null
[*]nullnull

Check the Key in the flywheel. Sometimes they break and upset the timing.

I have checked the key in flywheel, it was OK. What are the limits for compression, cold engine ?
Thanks

Contd. Having removed the flywheel i can see the magnetos have touched the white coil on stator. Does it matter when ignition still gives spark ?

I got a new block and one piston last year, as the motor heated up and damaged one cylinder. The good piston got new rings.
