Bought 1991 Evinrude ELEID, cleaned carb, starts and runs okay but surges then dies at full throttle. New tank, new fuel delivery line fitting to fitting, OEM, incl ball. Noticed small fuel leak at engine connection when ball is pumped up hard. Surprised at how loose connection was, so inserted fat o-ring. Will run 3/4 throttle most of the time, but dies at WOT unless I catch it and pump ball back up. Vent is open, already installed new fuel pump. Should I try replacing engine fuel connector? Maybe by inserting o-ring, the shrader valve is not opening fully? Am a rookie at this but do have manual and value your experience and advice.
