Evinrude 225 Power Pack numbers ?

As with many on this forum, I have found a wealth of information within these pages.
Recently replaced the stator to bring back to life my 225, but no joy. Then decided to take the boat over to a reputable marine repair shop for troubleshooting, and they have just informed me that both power packs were bad, probably from the old stator spiking them.
Being of humble means, I will be looking for a pair of used power packs, but have no idea what part numbers are on them. I need to find part #'s that will work.

The unit is a E225TXCUB.

Any Ideas where I can find the numbers, or anybody parting out a blown powerhead that may have extra parts ?

(Wellcraft 228 Sportsman, 225 Evinrude mounted on a SeaDrive)

Are you sure it's the packs? Strange that both would go. Disconnect the black/yellow wires to each pack and see if the spark comes back.

Thanks for such a fast response.

The mechanic informed me that is the stator is real bad, that sometimes power spike from the stator can fry both power packs. The old stator was pretty much a melted pile of 'GOO'.

He also stated that the stator output and the timing base output were fine, but no spark coming from either packs.

I questioned him on the issue, and he even suggsted that I put ONE pack on the engine to watch it run on 3 cylinders, then swap it over to the other side, and see the same result.

This made me trust his statement even more, he has a very good long lasting reputation, and understands financially driven decisions.

Do you know if he isolated the packs from the engine harness when he tested it? I'm not questioning his abilities, but if you go and put two packs on, your'e gonna be out of a lot of money if it turns out to be a shoted harness or something simpler like that.

pull the black/yellow wires from both packs and check for spark.
