I am looking to purchase a trim tilt motor for the above motor. The OMC number is 4344495 . In the past I have purchased an after market motor and installed it. It worked fine but I sold the motor so I cant say how it performed over time. I like the fact that it had a composite body vs a steel body. Prices for a new motor range from 60 dollars new to 200 dollars for OEM. I see used OEM selling for more than a new after market which of course raises my concern. I cant see installing a used steel body motor vs a new composite body motor. Can anybody share their thoughts and experience on these. Thanks

Replaced mine this Spring. SW use. Motor still worked but cover just about rusted through.
Did a little digging and found the supplier of the OEM motor. Googled the supplier’s number and came up with DB Electric as an alternative.

Fit, form and function replacement with carbon fiber cover. So far, so good

For their price with your research it gives a better feeling to at least go with them vs the many others of unknown origin. Thank you.
