I have above motor for my 17 runabout. I just read it is a Fasttrack model. What does Fasttrack mean ?? I was told is has a special version T&T, but were there other modifications to this model ??

I believe this only refers to the type of T/T.

My '91 90 Johnson has the FastTrak T/T. I think the difference is faster tilt rate and a few more degrees of travel, compared to the standard T/T unit that was offered.

Thanks t.h.

By the way - the T&T motor cover is rusty as this motor has been operated in salt water - manual says to remove unit before removing motor. Do you know if it is possible to remove just the motor and sand, prime and paint it, to stop the corrosion. Do you know what the compression is on yours - on mine 3 cyls have 122 and the fourth 132 - i have not ran it in water yet.

Hi G Dane...

The difference is in the angle of TNT. The Fast Tracks have more. More angle in. I believe it's about 6 degrees more angle than the old style.

I'll give the book a check tomorrow and let ya' know.
