Hi,
I have recently purchased a lovely Evinrude 10 XP
model number: BE10SPESR
Serial number: B 02426310
I can't seem to find any info. on these?
Other than XP = extra power.....?

I'm trying to find out the power difference from the standard 9.9?
The carb is totally different from what I have seen before and has a restrictor plate where it fits onto the intake......is it possible to just remove this to gain more power? or would this cause lumpy running?

Any info. on these 10 xp's would be great!
Regards
Glenn

Are you in Europe? That motor appears to be made in Belgium. According to the standard coding, "SP" means "Special Styling". I'm guessing the "XP" might be a marketing thing.

The parts books for our USA models show that plate in both 9.9 and 15hp motors, with no part numbers listed. I am guessing that means it is not for sale. Still guessing, the 9.9 probably is smaller. Swapping it for the 15hp plate might give you 15 horses but without sitting here and comparing all the other part numbers, I can't say that for sure. Nor do I know what would happen if you leave it out completely.
