Ever hear of Concito Networks ISP? (rant with happy ending)

I had the unfortunate experience of creating an account with Concito Networkds ISP. The account rep Tim Reyland is totally incompetent and after three different attempts at trying to send me some ISDN hardware, and charging me over $315.00 for it, I cancelled my account. Never got the hardware (and they could never produce tracking numbers), and was told by Tim they can't credit me until I return the hardware. And there will be a 15% handling charge, no refund on shipping or the monthly service charge ($29.95 for unlimited 128k digital isdn service).

Having enough from this total incompetent "Client Service Rep", I called Mastercard and a few days later had all my money back.

Concito Networks. Stay away.

The good news is that I went looking for another ISDN ISP and found LocalNet.com being discussed on a popular ISP forum. I contacted Local Net and they offer unlimited full duplex 128k ISDN service for $9.95 a month. And I found out that my Cisco ISDN hardware I bought new for $45 from a Cisco retailer was just fine and Tim from Concito Networks gave me incorrect info on configuring it (Probably for the reason of selling me the exact same hardware at $315.00 with a promise that it would work and full customer service to boot).

So thanks to Tim's incompetence, I have been up and running with my original configuraion, and a new ISP and paying only a third what Concito Networks wanted. And better service.

I am just glad that I didn't lose any money, and that I only wasted 3 weeks with Concito. Local Net had me up and running 15 minutes after calling them.

Customer Service doesn't get any better than that!

Edit: BTW, with compression/accelerator I consistantly get speeds from 300k to 1 gig, depending on what the data is, and no photo degredation.

In hindsight, I am surprised I even let Concito string me along for so long. I smelled a rat, but bought the hype, hook, line and sinker. I know better than that. What was I thinking????

Im glad Master Card came through for you. :) Its even better that you found such a great, inexpensive service.

I had to take that approach with @home. I had cancelled service with them and they continued to charge me. I got my money back(about $120 total) three days before they filed bankruptcy. Phew.

I was suprised with Master Card. Being a "member" since 1994 has its advantages, I guess. They really treated me well, and given the info I supplied them, they said they will just take back the money from Concitos bank and will probably not even be challenged on it.

I really thought that would be a hasle. Never had to do that before so I am impressed at how smooth it went.
