Ever found anything weird on Google Earth

I was checking out Lake Mead and Mohave on Google Earth and began wandering around. I zoomed in on Rachel, NV (of Area 51 fame) and found that the "Colonel" was in town :D

Check it out, pretty odd that someone would do that :confused:

(tip; type "Rachel, NV" into fly to and then pan left a bit)

from google maps type in "356 culver pkwy 14609" and go to the street view and boom, a picture of me mowing my lawn. What an invasion of privacy!!

What's the deal with the Colonel? Anyone have a clue whether it was added by Google, or maybe the government to cover a secret area? I can't stop laughing!

its a consperisy........know i know the col is in on it.....i allways wondered why the residents of roswell turned "chicken" when talking to the press !

I was looking at various football / baseball stadiums and found one (and only one) that had a game in progress... Can't remember which stadium it was though... maybe Seattle.

I like getting on Google Earth and just looking around the world sometimes - makes one realize that there is a LOT out there that we haven't seen...

yah like scipper said if you type in your address you can get several pictures of your house.. its like they drove down your street in a van.. kinda freaky

scipper your in rochester.. i was just up there this year.. at some high school. doing repairs to peoples houses

I don't think anything top-secret is under the Colonel since this is in private/public land, not the base. Unless,,, something crashed there and Google Earth got a shot of it before the govt. had a chance to clean it up :D

I also checked out my house on Google maps, freaky. I played around with it for a bit and was able to see the top of the car that was driving around and taking the pictures. Some kind of silver/gray compact car, like a PT cruiser or Ford Focus. The picture showed what I believe to be a GPS tranducer attached to the back of the car. In one of the shots there was a shadow of the car which indicated a bunch of antennas and other gear mounted to the roof of the vehicle. Just saying,,, if you see a car driving down your street with all sorts of crap mounted to the roof, you had better start smiling :rolleyes:

Maybe they can use it to locate Jimmy Hoffa:eek::eek: Perhaps that's what's under the Colonel.

If you look up "XXXXX" and go to street view you can see me crouched behind my wife's car. I had just replaced the floor in my father in law's boat and was cutting new carpet for it. If you click on the arrow to the left once you can see it a little better. I thought it was pretty cool that my small restoration project was on Google maps!:)

I have noticed one strange thing. I was looking at a shipyard that I am being re-assigned to. On the closest zoom there are 2 spar being built. Next zoom level out, there is a TLP. Next out there are the 2 spars. Kind of strange.

I have heard of people down here using googlemaps or other pay satellite photo sites to find boats that katrina pushed up into the woods. Once they located their boat they would help themselves to the little bits and pieces that come off rather easily. I only know this because I took a ride in an 18ft john boat with hydraulic steering and bennett trim tabs.

I wonder how they do the street view thing. It's very cool though! Whenever they took the pic of my house, I must have gotten home from fishing or will be going the next day because my truck is back in and right against the garage door. The sun angle appeared to be late afternoon. One of my buddy's house, it shows him playing basketball and is in mid-air. I don't think they drive around and took pictures but rather a scan or something. I wonder how many peoples got caught doing something they shouldn't have or don't want stranger to see.

This is really weird or funny. I checked Yahoo maps and its not there. But I dont know when Yahoo did their sat. photos?
What I think, The so called space people like fried chicken.....
