Evenrude & Johnson Motors

I am interested in purchasing a new Lowe's Fish & Ski boat and it comes with a four stroke Johnson 70 HP Engine. I have concerns about the company as I understand it was just sold again or in the process of being sold and I wonder if it will be there when or if I need warranty work or parts for the motor. Thank you for your opinion.

Well, Bombardier bought OMC Johnson/Evinrude and then sold it sometime later. BUT, the Bombardier family bought a big interest in it so they are still heavily involved. I think they'll be around for a good long time. Personnally, I like the direction they are headed in with motor design. I think someone else is building their four-cycles for them, right now. Maybe Suzuki. Some of the other guys will know for sure.
