When I give it full throttle the boat takes off quickly, then all of a sudden it sounds like the prop is slipping and winding out..I don't think I'm cavitating....is there a seal or something to tighten or replace to fix this problem?

Howdy, Drangel46. Sounds like you've spun the hub on your prop. Prop shop can rehub it for you. If you don't have a spare prop now you have a very good excuse to get one. Best bang for the buck would be a Comprop or a rebuilt aluminum 3 blade. Then if this ever happens again you can be back on the water in 5 minutes (things that you are prepared for rarely happen).

Good luck.
JB

Thanks J.B.
After further research I do believe your right about the spun hub....I checked with a local prop shop here and it can be done for $40 bucks....good deal? I think so...it's a stainless steel prop.
Thanks again

still ought to get a spare. Last time I was at the beach, I left my spare at home, and sure enough, I hit an unseen (and unmarked) obstacle. Spent half a day running around Morehead on a Saturday trying to find a replacement to get back on the water.

Agreed about the spare...have any of you seen the new props with the removable blades?
