What are some of the best ways to deal with this stupid government mandated crap? Does that gas treatment 'Stable' help? Anybody know what that stuff really is? What about adding a separate water separator in line before the engine?

Doesn't your engine already have a 502906 fuel filter mounted under the cowling? To be sure any leftover fuel does not degrade over the winter season, I drain the fuel tank after winterizing the engine and prior to storing the boat.

Your FICHT still has a vacuum operated fuel pump to draw the fuel up to the motor. The Racor fuel filter with a glass bowl is about the best you can get as you can check the fuel for water.

There should be no issue with ethanol fuel and your engine. Your engine was built and designed after ethanol was introduced. Now don't let it sit in it if you winter over, but other then that you should be fine. Put some satbil in the fuel tank if it's going to sit unused for months.

Hi everyone,

Sorry that we are just chiming in but we just recently became partners with iBoats. Every new piece of equipment you buy today is made to run safely with at least E10 gasoline since that is the overwhelming majority of gas available today. As mentioned, one of the issue is the short shelf life of ethanol blended gas. That gas can begin to break down in as little as 30 days. Because of that, it is good practice to use a high quality fuel stabilizer in your gas if there is a chance it is sitting for longer than 30 days. We may be a little biased, but we would recommend STA-BIL?...

Have a great day!
