I bought a 4.5 hp tedcumeska on Sunday. Went on Ebay and found a service manual. Ordered a carb rebuild kit from discount marine parts, http://www.discount-marine-parts.com. It came today. Rebuilt the carb in about an hour. New plug, gear oil, Starts in 1-2 pulls.

I have no experience with OB's. I read the posts on this forum. There are some great folks here with tons of advice. Thanks to all of you.

My advice to anyone with an old outboard--Don't be afraid to dig in.

One question. I know my impeller is shot. No cooling out the vents. I really want to get out on the lake this weekend. I am only using the motor to get away from the launch ramp. Then up go the sails. Probably ten minutes running at idle. Will this damage the motor? I intend to order an impeller next week and replace it.

Thanks again to everyone.

Would you run your car for 10 minutes without water?
