ESA Switch Adjustment on 1992 OMC 4.3 liter

Does anyone know how to adjust the ESA(Electronic Switch Adjust Switch) on OMC V6 4.3 liter Cobra Please reply with photos if possible of how arm that actuates switch should look also the cam does not move when putting throttle into forward position only reverse an back to neutral, the maintenance [SUB]manual states that this is right but really is it? What is the timing of low idle? Can the Switch be eliminated also?[/SUB]

Hi Trebor, and welcome to iBoats...

You have this posted n the wrong forum, but a moderator will be along soon enough and move it to the right one. This forum is for Mercruisers, not OMCs... OMCs have their own forum.. OMC I/O & Inboard Engines & Outdrives Please don't start a new one there now. If you do, when this one gets moved there... Lots of confusion.... :facepalm:

Hey Trebor! This is the inherent, possibly the demise of OMC. It's most often been blamed on the lower shift cable binding. You've got a task ahead of you. Do some searches on here and google for OMC ESA or shift cable... get you started...
