My tachometer becomes erratic and swings wildly when engine gets to about 2500 rpm, but engine doesn't change. This stops when engine rpms increase to 3500 or so. This just started. What could be going on here?<br />BlackSmoke

Re: Erratic Tachometer

I had the same problem in my 67 Stingray. I changed the the Tach out with a new one and cured the problem. But check all your connections first. Corroded terminals can give irratic readings. Good Luck. (make sure that you replace it with a marine duty tach. Automotive tachs will not hold up won't work right. Good Luck..
