Enrichment Valve?

After carefully looking at the enrichment valve, I noticed it only allows a small potion of fuel into the second carb only. There are 3 carbs, the hoses from the fuel enrichment valve connect to all the carbs, but there is no way it is going into the top carb for pure gravity reasons. There is a + link that attach's the hoses, the fuel doesn't go past the first hose going down which is carb #2. Basically, carb 1 and 3 are getting nothing. Will this contribute to poor starting? Should I replace the enrichment valve? Any advice would help.
Thx!!!

Re: Enrichment Valve?

The enrichment valve is nothing but a solenoid. It is either open or closed. If you are getting fuel to the middle carb but no others, the first thing to do is to check for gum or varnish clogging the other two hoses. Then check to see that the valve passages are not partially plugged. At about 2 PSI at cranking speed, there is more than enough pressure to feed all three carbs in the enrichment mode.
