Engine

I have a 1995 Sea Ray with a 4.3LX MerCruiser Engine. Engine seems to die when I try to accelerate. Have put in new fuel pump and new water filter and has not helped. Checked hoses for leaks and have not found any. Someone help???<br /><br />------------------<br />Thanks,<br /> Jamie

Seems to die???? Do you mean it bogs down and hesitates? Well I would check the accelerator pump in the carb. The possiblity exsists that the pump spring has gotten worn. Rebuild kits normally come with a new pump. Also check the engine timing. If the timing is not advancing properly it will also cause problems.

The V6 have always had problem with exhaust manifold. If everything else check out, See www,boatered.com,and ask about manifold, I seen posting about different riser, from Merc cant remember where.
