I have twin Honda 90 HP. The problem I am having is that one of my motors won't turn over. I jumped the battery from the other engine and it starts. When I remove the jumper cable the engine dies. I have installed a new battery, cleaned all terminal and connectors, checked all fuses and all were in good condition. There is power going to my ignition switch and to the starter. I even swapped the harness and still it doesn't start. Is there something I over looked? I have a hunch that it is grounding out somewhere. Could it be the rectifier or starter? I don't think it is a computer problem. Then, I tried jumping it again and this time it doesn't start. BTW I also check the neutral switch and it is good. So basically I have power going into the motor but it doesn't turn over. I also checked with the local Honda dealers and they are stumped as well.

1, If you have a computer on your motor, you need a laptop, cable ,soft ware to connect to your motor computer, so you can diagnose problems and log maintance.

2, Always have two battery's, on a battery switch from #1 or #2 or both battery's, always keep them on a battery maintainer,

3.Did the starter go up to the flywheel, and turn it? If not this means test starter, and solenoid, alternator stator, maybe rectifier

4. My gut says starter good luck,

Thanks for your input. I finally found the problem. The stator connecter which connects to the rectifier had shorted out. I also checked the stator and it was also shorted along with the ground wire. Replaced all parts and no it is running cherry. Thanks again.
