So today went to lake fishing, 150 evinrude 1992 V6 - last week had fuel vapor separator seal replaced - today engine would start and idle just fine but upon trying to accelerate engine would die- once it did start to accelerate but after 30 seconds slowed down and died- will start right back up and idle fine- had to idle back to dock. Old salt at dock says it's either a sour gas problem or fuel filter. I hate to admit it but the gas is from last year. Took boat out 3weeks ago 1st time this year it ran fine. Also noticed the metal arm that pulls the accelerator kept popping off - think it needs a clip? But that is not the problem - took the cowling off and watched it. My plan is to drain gas and put fresh gas and mix with sea foam or stabil and buy clip for accelerator arm. What say you Iboat brethren?

Boobie, I think I mistakenly am calling the throttle arm - the(accelerator) it's the metal arm that opens the throttle it seems to be popping out or disengaging from the the throttle. The old salt from the marina said he thinks it's a clip that goes there to hold it together - I did have friend who worked on it and was messing with that throttle arm to get the boat started in the driveway and bring it back to idle since boat hadn't run since last year. Maybe said clip popped off then? Also I don't know how to post a pic on this forum - I only have an iPhone - our PC crashed and we just use our smartphones - haven't got around to buying a laptop yet. When searching how to post a pic it said download from PC or import from host site - I'm hoping there is a way to snap a pic from my iPhone and post it that way- do you know if that's an option?
