engine will not turn off need help

I have a 1995 Honda 50hp 4 stroke engine no# bazl 1003933 that will not turn off with the key switch or kill switch. I have checked the key switch for continuity in all position and they read ok I checked the plug connector for continuity and found the ground wire from key switch was bad after jumping the bad ground it still would not turn off the only way to turn it off was to choke it out or unplug the exciter coil.Ive check all the rest of the wires that I could get to, could not check the ones going in to the cdi. Anyone have any ideas or a answer? its a mystery to me.

Kill circuit on this engine is really simple.All it does is short the ignition to ground through the black/red circuit.

Hondon ----- thanx for the come back. I tryed to ground that circuit by touching the black ground to black/red wire but the engine still ran, am I doing it the right way? Do you think it may be in the ignition switch even if there is continity in the off position? The B/R wire runs from the ignition and the kill switch to a two wire connector the B/R going in to the DCI and the ground wire to the engine is this the circuit? <br /><br />fshbum

You will need to isolate the remote control and harness from the engine.That means unplug both from the engine then plug in units you know work and see what happens.If it turns off normally,you know you have a bad control or harness and go from there.If the problem continues you likely have a faulty engine harness but will need to look alittle harder.

hey hondon I found the reason my 50hp would not turn off after looking at the wire harness I found that the CDI had gone bad I was able to get my hands on good one and after pluging it in the engine turn off with no problem <br /><br />thanx for your help <br /><br /> fshbum
