Engine will not start back after shutting it down.

Hello guys. Hope someone can help. I have a 1986 bayliner conquest, 32 by 12 beam.
It has twin 350 chevys with volvo penta outdrives. The port side engine will not start back after running for about 5 miles.
It starts great and after awhile up the lake when you stop to take a swim. It will not start back. Get back to the dock and it starts up again. The vin is BLBA69CBF686. It appeared to not be pumping fuel into the card when it would not start.
Can a fuel pump get hot and not work? Please help
