I have a 2002 Tohatsu 50M outboard engine. It will not shut off with the key or the kill switch (safety switch). Also my trim guage and rpm Guage stopped working. I had to unplug the fuel line from fuel tank to shut engine off.
Cannot find any problems with wiring or key switch, so far. Thought I knew how to trace and test theirs but guess I'm just shooting in the dark at this point.
We'd both like to help, but you aren't giving us much to go on.
For your testing, are you using a volt meter, a test light, what?
Is your testing being done on the back side of the ign. switch, or somewhere else?
Is there anything that does work?
