engine warning light

I'm getting an engine warning light on my 1998 175 hp Evinrude FICHT. I've noticed that it goes off only at lower speeds (RPM) but whan I increase throttle it goes off. Engine doesn't spit or miss at all even at idle. I've checked the fuel bulb and I can't get any pressure in it no matter how long I pump it. Does this sound like a fuel pump problem??

I have the same engine. My engine warning light/buzzer goes off at times when I put the motor in idle. It eventually goes off as well and the engine always runs fine.<br />I have a question for you though. Do you have any problems with your thermostats and overheating? What is your normal running temp?<br />My engine overheats with the thermostats in, runs fine with them out? Any help here?<br />Thanks<br />Bob
