1994 Mariner, 60 hp, three cylinder, with engine running, hose and muffs hooked up to it, good stream of water coming out of the pisser, about 130 degrees on the top two cylinders, 100 on the bottom, this is checked at the base of the plug. Is this normal, got some occasional popping but the plugs all look ok, kinda figured it should be higher, but this is very cold ground water. Gary

Re: engine temp

if you are using a IR gun don't point it a shinny plug base as it will give a bad reading. See what the heads read on a nice flat black surface and see if there's 30 degrees difference once the engine is allowed to warm up. You may have a bad thermostat if the temp will not come up.
