I have a 2013 Suzuki DF175. Lately I haven't been able to get it past 4000 rpms for more than about a half mile then it sputters, drops rpms abruptly then jumps back to 4000. It feels like something blocking the fuel then clearing. I can run at 3800rpm all day with no issues. it started out happening at 3400 rpm and the fuel bulb would be sucked flat when the engine stopped. Lately, it has had trouble starting at the ramp. It will start, run a second then shut off. I have to move the throttle to keep it running.

What I have done so far:
Boat has a charcoal cannister for the vent line. I cut the line to that in case the cannister was clogged.
replaced fuel pickup in tank
replaced fuel/water separator
replaced primer bulb
replaced fuel filter on engine

I do think I put ethanol gas in it last summer without thinking. That has been run out and refilled with non-ethanol fuel. I did run all the way out of gas once last year as well (fuel gauge did not work, read "full" all the time--now repaired). Maybe sucked some crud out of the tank? I have an appointment with a repair shop this week but was hoping for a quick fix alternative. Thanks in advance.

testing is needed, not just throwing parts at it and hoping.
rail pressure would be a good start.
but the collapsing bulb did indicate a restriction on the fuel system.
did you get that stopped?

Disconnect fuel line from main tank and use gas in a gas can. That will help isolate your problem to the fuel line vs engine problem.
