I have a 1968 4 cyl GM I/O. I rebuilt the carb. It runs for 1 minute then stalls out. If I pump the fuel bulb it will keep running. However, it has a new fuel pump. What's wrong? Could it be the coil or a resistor?

I/O`s dont use a outboard primer bulb. Pumping the bulb acts as a fuel pump so either you have the wrong pump, a modified automotive pump, a defective new pump or a worn camshaft issue.

Shouldn't be a fuel bulb. It sounds like the bulb is filling the carb bowl and once you run it the bowl dries up and dies. Find out why the pump is not pumping and get rid of the bulb.

sounds like someone was having a problem and put that on to get it sold! Fuel filter changed?

my experience with older boat, same fuel issue couple of times problem the same plugged line. Fuel starvation, I had to remove all the lines from the tank to the carb. found one tube blocked with particulates from fuel filter built up on bend and when finally found looked like the butt end of a bee.
Like posted before dump the bulb remove and check all your lines free and clear. Run boat until it stalls then crack the carb. top and see if bowl full of fuel or pump the throttle and look for fuel injection. Replace all filters especially the bronze one in the carb.
