Re: engine stalling,starving,electrical....

air leak? from the engine or from a hose?

it makes the symptoms after 15-20min of driving at 3500-4000rpms

after I shut the engine for a few mins starts fine runs again for 15-20 min

Re: engine stalling,starving,electrical....

Sounds like shortness of breath, oh I mean shortness of fuel or fuel starvation. The best thing to do is to install a see through $5 fuel filter between the fuel pump discharge and the carbs inlet. Run the engine again with the cowl cover off. Make sure you stay clear of the engine while running. As soon as the problem shows up, check the filter and see if it is empty.

If it is, then either the fuel pump diaphragm needs replacing or there is a leak in the fuel hose or something is clogging the fuel hose suction in the tank (unlikely). An air leak in the fuel hose suction side will show as bubbles in the see through filter. If no bubble shows up in the new installed see through filter, but the fuel level decreases and cannot keep up at WOT, then it's most likely a fuel pump diaphragm. Replace the fuel pump diaphragm and blow back on the fuel hose suction to make ensure there is no clog.

Check the vent line for clogs.
Bugs like making their nest in tere.
Where you located? Profile? Location?
If you are forcced to run Ethanol?
It can weaken the inside of the hose and it can collapse or delaminate and cause the problem.

I have a see threw filter and see a little of varnish and specs. I did install it before the force filter is that ok?

I will go ahead and look in the tank....

but why would it do that after running for 20-30min. if it would be a supply issue would it not cause it right away?

Like Jiggz mentioned above, the in line fuel filter should be installed between the fuel pump and the carburetors. This way it provides maximum protection to the carbs. Even if the rubber diaphragm in the fuel pump begins to deteriorate, the fuel filter will prevent debris from getting to the carbs.

It looks like the motor is starved for fuel, but that is just a guess. Is it possible to use a portable tank to see if there is any improvement?

It takes a while to build up enough vacuum to cause problems.

I forgot to mention that when I make a sharp abrupt turn it does a huge loss of power

does that do something

Yes, it's probably ventilation and opens another subject for another post.

Re: engine stalling,starving,electrical....

The see thru filter should be between the fuel pump discharge and the carbs inlet. It serves two purpose, first and foremost for fuel related troubleshooting and second as a back up fuel filter as discussed by PNW. After you moved it in this position and experience the problem, let us know what is the status of the see-thru filter if it's empty or half-empty or full. You can start troubleshooting from this point on.

Turning and loosing power?? Explain? Does it actuall drop rpm's or just slow the boat down?
Turning and the motor trimmed up?It can drop a lot in speed ,you'll need to lower the trim when turning hard.
