So i took my boat out for the first time this year after sitting not running for a year i fixed the ignition and fired right over then i went out on the water and she just wouldn't move i had push all the way down to get power then it ran for about 5 minutes stalled and wouldn't turn back over (fun paddle home) and hasn't since my friend said its probably water in the gas so i got new gas and oil cleaned the tubes and tired again nothing cranks hard but no fire.
Any help i would be grateful

Re: Engine stalled and wont fire back up

Trouble shooting 101: Fire or fuel? Easiest way to divide and conquer is to get a can of aerosol Sea Foam, available at WW and most auto parts stores. You want to use Sea Foam and not starting fluid or other things as it contains lubricating oils which your engine needs and it contains volatile enough petroleum distillates (Naptha and Alcohol) to light off in the combustion chamber.

Set your throttle to some value to get the butterflies in your carb opened so that you can spray into the venturi. Crank the engine while spraying it into the carb(s). If the engine "hits", doesn't have to run, just hits, you have a fuel problem and since you did what you have already done, go through the rest of it and clean it out. The carb and internal parts are probably where your problems are.

Would doubt that if your engine was running when last used, it is not Ignition.....but if points, coil, and condenser, like '50's technology, not today's CDI systems, it could be contaminated points........do what I said and you'll know.
