Welcome aboard: I don't think that's an engine model. I think you might be seeing a part number. Typically, there's a tag on the engine somewhere with the model number stamped on it.

Do you have picture?

that's a block serial # T= Tonawanda NY assembly plant, R = Romulus Michigan.
OMC model numbers usually start with the liter displacement of the engine, followed by a 2 (2bbl carb) or 4 (4 bbl carb) the letter M (manual steering ) or P (power steering) followed by another series of letters (date codes and running changes I guess)
Mine is
434APRGDP
the 43= 4.3 liter
4= 4bbl carb
P= power steering
if you search around you can find what the rest means. The model number is usually on a grey/silver sticker on the valve cover or thermostat housing.

Post up a pic of what you have...
what year boat
what OMC drive
stringer (big rubber boat that drive comes through at the transom) may be painted white or silver
or Cobra (has trim rams like a Merc drive or Volvo SX) usually painted dark grey
inline 4 engine (mostly GM, some 2.3 Fords, says Ford right on the valve cover)
V-6 (GM)
V-8 (GM or Ford) GM has distributor in back, Ford has it in front
carb, 2 bbls or 4bbls

Here is a picture of the motor from my 1986 Wellcraft 192 American cuddy - 19'
Trying to register the boat and I need the year, make, model and HP of the motor.
Not sure which numbers signify individual parts or the actual engine info.
Some of the numbers I found are:
OMC - T 0917613
T 0017009
GM 6269732
Firing Order 165432

I think that’s required on outboard boats but inboards are registered by the Hull Identification Number (HIN) on the right rear hull. You have a Chevy 4.3 V6 and the sticker on the thermostat housing where it says OMC drive systems will have the model # which is what you use to order parts. Should start with a 43...

Trying to insure the boat and they want that information.
The model number on that sticker is worn out and illegible but right beside it on the same sticker the serial number is T 0917613
Is that the serial number for the motor?
If so, would it be a 1986 Chevy 350 - serial number T 0917613?
What would the horsepower be?
Thank for the help

Not sure I’ll have to check mine I still have the sticker. It’s not a 350 (V8) it’s a 262 cu in V6 4.3 liters. 2 bbl carb is 175 hp 4 bbl carb is 205 hp. Yours looks like a 2 bbl.
there will be an engine serial # that starts with a T (Tonawanda NY plant) or R (Romulus Mi plant). It will be on the block near the edge of the starboard side cyl head.

You did get all required paperwork with the boat when you bought it, correct? Bill of sale, signed registration card and/or signed title.

Your boat is a 1986 OMC with cobra outdrive, the motor is a 1986 4.3 V6 rated at 175hp as stated above

The motor serial number from OMC is riveted on the block above the starter

Correct normally this is done for outboard boats but on inboard boats all that is used for registration is the HIN number. First 2 or 3 letters are an abbreviation of the manufacturer's name last 2 digits are the year.

The number with the T is most likely the engine number if you got it off the block where I said it is. OMC Cobras at least the one I have do not have a metal plate anywhere like Mercruisers do, they have the OMC Drive Systems sticker and that's it for their information. The one that starts with a T is a GM engine serial #.

I have the bill of sale but no information for the motor was included
you didnt get all the paperwork then. in addition to the bill of sale, you need the signed title and/or signed registration

the DMV/DNR/AHJ whatever you have that registers boats in your area will only need the BOS and signed title and/or registration.

you may have an issue trying to register it. it will depend on which state you are in.

You need to find out how ownership is transferred in your province. For example in New York State boats are titled so a signed over title is needed to transfer ownership. All it has is the year, Manufacturers name and the HIN number just like a car with the VIN. Trailers on the other hand are not titled so they can be transferred with a signed over registration. I’d think you need to prove that the person who signed your bill of sale had the Title or Registration in their name to prove they actually owned it and had the legal right to sell it to you! This can be a problem in some places.

Engine Serial # - T0917613 ???
Thanks in advance

can't answer year, what's the year of the boat? Look for the last 2 digits of the HIN that should be it
the 432 means a 4.3 GM (Chevrolet) V6 with a 2bbl Rochester carb, 175 hp.
P means you have power steering.

The rest of the letters can give the year and any modifications done during the model run, you have to search around for that.
The engine serial is the one starting with the T for Tonawanda NY assembly plant.
