That link in the stickies goes to a big red warning screen, so I didn't use it. Who has the scoop on the engine in my new to me boat, serial #K178481? I'll take as much detail as is available.

The Merc lookup page automatically put a zero at the beginning of your number. When I plugged '0K178481' in at a couple of "mercruiser parts' online retailers, it came right up. It was apparently used in both Alpha and Bravo configurations, and with both 2- and 4-barrel carbs.
I have Mercs' EPC and that number comes up as Mdl# 4350100KS, which translates to 1997, 350 Magnum (carbed) with power steering, 2 piece exhaust manifolds and Thunderbolt V, for an Alpha drive.
