2019 Tohatsu 5 hp, 4-stroke. Underway for about ten minutes about 75 percent throttle good power, the engine races and the power is gone. Sit frustrated for about five minutes and can get underway again at about 15 percent throttle, but if I go faster, it revs up again, no power.

That was just what I was thinking, your prop has a rubber bushing inside of it. If the pressure gets too high the rubber bushing will slip instead of breaking your gears in your lower unit. You will just have to remove your prop & old bushing then slide a new bushing in the prop then reinstall your prop on the lower units propeller shaft with the washer & nut.

I agree with the two above, prop is the most likely culprit. When you remove the prop look at it and see if you hit something, or if you just have bad luck and it failed.

I thought so too, and did that. Then, I even ran three set screws through the rubber bushing. It still does it and the screws are in tact.

use a sharpie and draw a line across your prop and the shaft then go for a ride.

bet the line does not match up when you get back.
