1995 5.7L LX EFI (TBI) Bravo III. I am changing all of the parts from my old engine to a new long block
Just wondering how close the engine sheave's/pulley's are supposed to be. I am finding it very difficult to get the raw water pump belt between the top pulley on the circulating pump and the pulley on the crank/harmonic balancer. They are very close together but do not touch. Is this normal?

The old engine is a 1995 Mercruiser 5.7 LX EFI (TBI) with an engine serial number OF756740 got a direct replacement long block from GM for model years 1987 thru 1995, 4 center bolts on the valve covers and a 12 bolt intake with the middle 2 on each side I believe @ 72 degrees and the other 8 @ 90 degrees.

Re: Engine pully's

I ran into the same issue on my 1996 Volvo Penta 5.0FL pulleys. I took the circulating pump pulley off to get the raw water pump belt off?! And I'm assuming I'll have to reverse the process to put the belt back on?

I know they're different set-ups, but I'd say they are close on layout...more or less?
