Hi all,

Just fixed a bad piston . The cylinder was scored as well as piston. The cylinder was horned and piston replaced. Still get a bad compression reading. 30-60 at times. My engine is an evinrude 1978 115hp. this is the three time I took apart and rebuild. Why is the piston reading so low? All others are at 100 compression. Know the darn engine won't even start . Sparks were checked for current , it has electricity going through them.... Don't know whats wrong? Any help here ?

Thanx

Re: Engine problem!

Honing rarely cleans up a scored cylinder enough for a rebuild. Probably should have bored it oversize.
