Last year I could get about 52 out of it, this year, I got a new prop (same size and pitch). It was running rough last year but I could still get the speed so i changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor this year and waxed it up real good. With all of these changes, I get 45 out of it.
I have a 87 sea ray pachanga 19 with the 4.3 LX V6....
Any Ideas?

A dirty hull will slow you down quite a bit...or a badly timed engine.

Could it be those midnight snacks that are weighing things down a little? ;)

Same kind of prop? A 14 x 21 aluminum won't run as fast as a 14 x 21 stainless. Difference could be 5 mph, maybe more. Even in stainless, a 4-blade 14 x 21 won't run quite as fast as a 3-blade 14 x 21.

Re: Engine Power

As far as a dirty hull, I will agree with this, it is dirty now, it has been in the water for a month now. I bought the exact same prop as i had before, I would rather chew up a aluminum prop than a stainless because of the cost of replacement. But I was also wondering if there is anything I may have done wrong in changing all of the items that I did? Or could it be that my guages are wrong in giving me my speed and if it could be, how do i fix it.
thanks
