This boat is a 1978 Marquis Dolphin, 23 Ft Cuddy, (no body has ever heard of it), with a Mercruiser 898 GM 305 V8. Has always run without problems because I have a good marine mechanic, self employed and he does me right. Problem is he is on an extended vaction and I need help right now. I was allowing engine to warm up on the hose and earmuffs to check some things since it hasn't been run this year. Started easily ran great for about 3 minutes and stopped suddenly. Would not restart, cranks ok, just won't fire. Even tried a shot of ether. Gets good spark at the coil, none at plugs. This is as far as I've had time to check. Any suggestions on where to go next?? Thanx

Re: engine not firing

Probably just needs it's yearly tuneup. Including cap and rotor.<br />Tuneups are needed due to the extended non use time boats see.
