I used engine Muff to flush out my outboard after running it in salt water. Is these engine muff you hook the garden hose too,is a good idea? Can you screw your engine up using these things?I heard that your hose can't put enough pressure out for a big outboard engine.
thanks

Re: engine muff

They work just fine and probably millions of them are used every day. Just keep your RPMs down, you don't want to be running high RPMs with just the muffs.

Re: engine muff

Where do people come up with this stuff. City water pressure is 40 PSI and up. The water pressure with the engine in the water is 30 PSI and less on most engines. It is not the pressure, it is the VOLUME of water that makes the difference. Hence, don't run the motor at high rpm.

NEVER run a motor over 1500 rpms, on muffs, also when flushing run it long enough for the tstats to open, or you are wasting your time, and water.
