i have a evinrude big twin electric 35 the serial # is 25930-11828. can anyone tell me year? what type of oil to use? where do i check oil levels? i bought the boat and motor about 3 years ago . what should i check to get it ready to run or see if it will run? i don't know much about boat motors. please help thank you.

It's a 1957 model. Getting a manual would be your best bet on the rest. there is a link at the top of this page that says manusls. They should have one for this motor.<br /><br />Good luck

The parts manual for that motor is particularly useful. Check this website, and also Ebay. If you find an Ebay seller with manuals, email them and see if they have something for your particular model. The oil to gas ratio would be 24 or 32:1. Use the new oil (TCW-3) as it burns cleaner than the non-detergent 30 wt your motor initially used. (You will find a lot of opinions on oils.)
