Engine identification

I have a 4.3l v6 omc, were do i locate the model and serial on the engine and will it tell me the Hp, thanks

2 bbl not sure of year somewhere between 1987 and 90

There should be a tag on your engine (I have no idea where exactly) with a model number. Here is how to decode the numbers.

The sticker if its still there will be on the thermostat housing. 2bbl carb it will be 175 hp, 4 bbl carb it will be 205.
