Engine identification / history

I'm currently in the process of restoring an older model Hamiltonjet and am wanting to find any information on the inboard motor - or someone to point me in the direction of where I can look; the engine is a Ford V8 with an OMC ID tag model 990230G serial number W559538; any infromation would be appreciated
