Engine ID help

Okay I just recieved a Larson tri hull w/Johnson outboard. The engine cover says 65, it is a v4 twin carbs. I was told the engine is a 1973 90 hp because johnson didn't make a v4 65hp. sorry no tags visible except one on the ignition module said "model 5GX-2 serial number 48067"
The boat tag said model Larson 41805

1st please go back and edit your post and resize you pictures, so we don't have to scan r-l it's a royal PIA. look on the engine for a quarter size disc with numbers on it. and post them. like this:

My guess is that it is a 1968 65hp model VX-14. Check it out.

here's the pic, i was getting it from photobucket, while Frank was typing. let's see how close he is. i thought the larger motors were electric shift.

Sorry about the picture sizes. The quarter size disc on the left cylinder head had J2982350

The v-4 65hp was not electric shift.

Just found a tag painted over it a 65hp vxl-14b now I just need the year. Any ideas?
